Why am I charged a storm water fee?

It is a financial tool that creates a separate fund within a local government for addressing non-point source pollution (storm water runoff) and flooding, created by the Wisconsin Legislature. It also requires municipalities reduce polluted storm water runoff by implementing storm water management programs with best management practices.

These monies are used for storm water control which includes culvert replacements, ditching, grading, seeding, concrete/asphalt work as well as state and federal permitting. This charge is in arrears, paying for the current year at the end of the current year.
